Korouoma Canyon, one of Lapland’s most enchanting natural treasures.
After pickup in Rovaniemi, your expert outdoor guide will take you on a scenic1.5-hour drive to the Korouoma Nature Reserve. This protected canyon is famous for its towering cliffs, deep pine forests, and —in winter —its surreal, sculptural frozen waterfalls.
Once there, you’ll be equipped with ice cleats that fit over your shoes to ensure a safe and comfortable hike. Then, you’ll begin a 1.5km to 5 km guided hike(depending upon path and group health) into the canyon, stopping at spectacular frozen waterfalls along the way. With luck, you might
even spot ice climbers scaling the icy walls!
This is more than a sightseeing trip — it’s an immersion into pristine Arctic silence, where every crunch of snow underfoot and every breath in the frosty air connects you with Lapland’s pure, untouched beauty.
At the halfway point, your guide will prepare a warm Finnish-style barbecue lunch over an open fire, paired with hot drinks and shared stories about Lapland’s nature and traditions. Afterward, you’ll return along the same route and head back to Rovaniemi, carrying memories of a peaceful day in the wild north
